The firm is pleased to announce that Sarah E. Spires and Steve Udick have been named to the 2019 list of Texas Rising Stars.
This marks the fourth consecutive year Ms. Spires has been recognized, and the first time on the list for Mr. Udick. Texas Rising Stars ranks the state’s top lawyers who are under the age of 40 or who have been practicing law for no more than 10 years, based on nominations from other lawyers across Texas and an extensive review by the publication’s editors.

Ms. Spires focuses her practice on patent infringement litigation and intellectual property transactions, particularly in the life science and biotechnology areas. She has successfully tried multiple cases to verdict in jury trials, bench trials and arbitration proceedings involving pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, computer software, semiconductors, LCD technology and telecommunications devices.

Mr. Udick represents clients in complex commercial and IP litigation, with a particular focus on patent, trade secret, and appellate law. His litigation experience involves a diverse group of public and privately-held companies, including clients in the pharmaceutical, medical device, computer hardware and software, and financial investment industries.
