Sheetal Patel is a registered patent attorney and focuses her practice on patent infringement litigation, inter partes reviews, IP counseling, intellectual property transactions, and complex business litigation.
Ms. Patel is an experienced litigator with many years of experience litigating patents involving a wide range of technologies. Ms. Patel’s litigation experience includes U.S. district court, International Trade Commission, and appellate litigation. Ms. Patel has broad experience in all aspects of litigation, including patent litigation strategy development, claim construction, managing complex fact discovery, working with expert and fact witnesses, conducting and defending fact and expert depositions, drafting pretrial and post-trial briefing, and trial preparation.
Ms. Patel also counsels a diverse mix of companies ranging from start-ups to large global corporations regarding intellectual property, strategic collaborations, IT infrastructure, IT security, eDiscovery, complex agreements, commercialization, investments, and licensing.
Prior to practicing law, Ms. Patel performed research and development at a global Fortune 100 company as well as a start-up biotechnology company. Prior to joining Skiermont Derby LLP, she was a Counsel at Potomac Law Group in Washington DC, and previously worked as an associate at Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow, Garrett & Dunner, LLP in Washington DC.
